Girl Nails Tech Culture

every single party in San Francisco👍 pic.twitter.com/xjOEFtTAZF — Alexis Gay (@yayalexisgay) April 11, 2020 This girl fucking nailed it. Now I've never lived in San Francisco but I follow enough VC twitter to understand all the references. San Francisco is a fucking cesspool of pretentious people who are too wealthy for their own good. Like just an absurd number of millionaires who are all too young to know which soda Kel loved the most or that Cory and Topanga is the original true love story of the century. Basically, fuck San Francisco.

Tiger King is Stupid

Image
Full disclosure: I haven't watched it. Reason being that it's stupid and I'm not one of the easily entertained masses. Maybe you're a peasant who is easily manipulated into believing you're being entertained, but I'm not. I only watch premier television - the cream of the crop, the best of the best. Do I sometimes delve in tier 2 or even tier 3 television? Sure. Sometimes I just want some background noise with a mediocre plot while I scroll through my phone, but an intriguing enough concept or storyline that keeps me clicking that "Next Episode" button, but I don't want this shit.  There are literally dozens of television shows and movies you could be watching that elevates your mind instead of sucking the life out it. So do me a favor and stop trying to get me to watch this drivel. It's trash, and I don't fill my head with trash.

Chick Buries the Story on Having Coronavirus and Should be Jailed

Image
Ummm this just happened... RIP in Peace my dude pic.twitter.com/rh9ZpRZJNs — Carlos (@ChuckeEChaves) April 13, 2020 This girl should be jailed. Plain and simple. Like she needs to be put in jail for second degree murder. Maybe the death penalty if she doesn't die of coronavirus.

IG Sensation Caroline Calloway is on OnlyFans

Image
Just a heads up. I’m genuinely going to launch my Onlyfans tonight. I’m going to drop it randomly around midnight just like when I dropped my first unfiltered nude. 🧚‍♂️ — ◥◤Caroline Calloway (@carolinecaloway) April 12, 2020 If you're not up on who Carolina Calloway is, don't ask me. I'm not really sure other than she's essentially the female version of Billy McFarland. Basically she bought a ton of Instagram followers, used that to create a sensation around her to create a tour, sold tickets to the tour, but then didn't actually book any of the venues, and then cancelled everything. Somehow she still has 700K followers on IG and almost 60K followers on Twitter, and yesterday she dropped a BIG OL BOMB saying she was about to hop on OnlyFans charging people $50/month (would have gone higher if it would allow) and caused a shit storm.  Responses cross the entire spectrum: if you think i would everrrrrr pay for @carolinecaloway only fans accou...

Sweden Doesn't Care About Coronavirus

Image
That's right. While most other countries are locking down every aspect of their society, Sweden (and the Netherlands) don't give a flying FUCK about the coronavirus and is basically sacrificing their citizens for the sake of herd immunity. Source:  As many public spaces throughout Europe empty out—with citizens only leaving home for essential groceries or medication—life in Sweden is carrying on, mostly as usual. Children walk to school while adults meet up for dinner at their local bar. Only the vulnerable have been advised to isolate and some are working from home. Yet in Sweden, where there are  9,141 confirmed cases and 793 people have died , experts worry weaker measures may be leading to a more severe outbreak in the country of just 10 million citizens. Here's the thing, I don't really get how people are okay with this. They're just like "Yes I am okay with my grandmother dying if it means we can keep going on like normal?" I guess that...

Photoshopped Or Not?

Image
So with the quarantine in full effect, there are so few cars on the road, that driving in Los Angeles is actually pleasurable. You can get anywhere in a fraction of the time, and it would be even better if there was anywhere to actually go other than a different neighborhood to walk around. But there's another thing about cars not being on the road, and that is the constant smog that hovers over the city has completely dissipated. However, there's this one picture showing this, but I'm not sure if it's been photoshopped or not so you decide:

TikTok: An Explanation for Old People (aka 25+)

Image
While Barstool might cater to the college kid and early twenty-something, there are plenty of us who are not that audience. There are many of us who are close to or past the age of 30 and it's tough for us to keep up with the times, trends, and tech - none more clear than TikTok. I started on TikTok about six months ago as a joke and now I'm addicted, which is the story for honestly most users (they say it right in their bio). There are many people who would be considered young (I'm 28) but might think of themselves as "too old" to be on TikTok either because they've heard that everyone on it is in high school (they're not) or because young people have shamed them for being on it. I'm here to be your guide. TikTok is actually the perfect app to be on during quarantine because it's an easy time-waster, you're looking at strangers not at friends, and it's a large mixed bag of humor and attractive people getting attention. So here's Ti...

TikToker Logically Explains Ancient Civilizations and I 100% Believe Him

Image
I found this guy on TikTok who basically takes archaeological evidence of some of the world's wonders (e.g. Petra, Stonehenge, Giza Pyramids, Mayan temples, etc.) and connects them in order to show how biblical text indicates that these are all part of a global, interconnected ancient civilization. Furthermore, he shows this ancient civilization was decimated around the time of when religious folk might claim that Noah was saved by the Ark during a massive rainstorm that flooded the Earth. It's pretty fascinating because he doesn't explain it in like a conspiracy theory way, but in a really calm and logical manner, and I'm really into it. Maybe it's because I'm already pre-disposed to believing in these kinds of things anyways, but I think it's pretty fascinating and he has a new YouTube channel to go with it. I followed him at like.. 30K followers and he's already up to 165K followers on TikTok along with 2,500 subs on YouTube so I think this could tu...

Are You Smarter than the Largest and Most Famous VC on the Planet? Find Out Now...

Image
The answer is probably not, but you also might be as well. If you're not aware of what Vision Fund is, it's one of the largest (if not largest, I'm not going to look it up) venture capital funds in the world run by Masayoshi Son, and it is responsible for some of the game-changing companies we know today. They've invested in the likes of Uber and WeWork while leading the way with dozens of other companies. Now that you know what it is, you're probably saying to yourself "Wow these guys must be WAY smart. How could I possibly be smarter than them?" As it turns out, some of the things they've invested have turned out pretty horribly, and to be honest it's probably easy to understand why... Ummm these companies don't turn a fucking profit! Most people have no fucking clue how tech/startups work. They have a basic understanding of the big boys, but there's an underlying culture within the venture capital/investment/startup world that fr...

Stuck Inside? Binge These Underrated Shows.

Image
Yes obviously you're stuck inside - we all are. We're all stuck inside because some asshole ate a fucking bat in another country because they can't just eat chickens and cows like normal. Obviously you need to have a plethora of streaming services, but I think some of these are worth figuring out a way to watch them because they are exceptional works of television. Everyone knows the classics like Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men, and The Sopranos. So instead, I'm going to give you a few shows that are incredible and have usually gone under the radar as amazing television. Shameless If this show were on HBO, this would have won awards constantly every year. It's an absolute shame that it never got the recognition for how consistent this show was over it's ten year run. Shameless is still going on Showtime , however I stopped watching before this season because the network has an uncanny ability to ruin every good piece of property by running it too l...

Los Angeles Lockdown Pushed to May 15

Image
God mother fucking damn it. I was really focused on April 30th as a good stopping point when things would get reevaluated and Garcetti just pushed it to May 15th and we aren't even halfway through the month so things are NOT looking great. On the other hand, I just did drive from Silverlake to Santa Monica and it took about 20 minutes, which is UNHEARD of in Los Angeles. Normally, even on a weekend, it would take around 35-50 minutes to get across the town, which means I experienced nothing short of a miracle.  Furthermore, the air has never been cleaner and the views have never been clearer. I can see the Hollywood sign, the mountains, the ocean, and the beaches in their purest form and it's amazing to see.  So ya the environment is spectacular, I can get anywhere I want at any given time with no work whatsoever, and yet I can't actually go anywhere other than just to walk around with a mask around my face. Upsides and downsides I suppose.  In the m...

Charli D'Amelio & Her Fam Want a Reality Show & I'm Here For It

If you don't know who Charli D'Amelio is, she's the biggest start on TikTok right now with almost 50 MILLION followers. For context, Justin Timberlake, Zendaya, Vin Diesel, Shakira, and Barcelona FC are in the same range of that on Instagram. This girl is MASSIVE and she's only growing. She is officially a cultural icon at this point, and the only step next to take is to go full Kardashian and have her own reality show. @charlidamelio @dixiedamelio @marcdamelio @heididamelio dc @africanhoney ♬ original sound - samantha_long_ From Source : "... Charli's parents were able to give a more concrete answer. When asked if they're working on a project, Marc gave a firm "yes," saying that the finer details just need to be worked out. "We're figuring out all that stuff right now," he said. 'This has all kinda happened all really quickly. But we think if we're gonna do it, we'll go all in with it. And like Char...

Broncos Picking a WR at #15 Would be Catastrophically Stupid

Image
With the NFL draft being only a couple of weeks away when Bill O'Brien will undoubtedly fuck things up for his team, I thought I might use this opportunity to shame the shit out of anyone who thinks the Broncos should take a wide receiver with the first overall pick. Took a couple shots at this mock draft business, absolutely loved how this one shaped despite the risky WR/WR.. couldn’t pass on Shenault there (only went 5 rounds) pic.twitter.com/ljrC2TPW7P — BroncosBinge (@BroncosBinge) April 7, 2020 So to recap, here are the first 5 picks in the first Broncos Faction Mock Draft for 2020. R1 P15 - WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama R2 P46 - CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama R3 P77 - OT Isaiah Wilson, Georgia R3 P83 - LB Troy Dye, Oregon R3 P95 - IDL Rashard Lawrence, LSU pic.twitter.com/q4iolfx2EY — Broncos Faction (@BroncosFaction) April 4, 2020 Took a couple shots at this mock draft business, absolutely loved how this one shaped despite the risky WR/WR.. couldn’t...

Welcome to Barstool West Coast

Image
I love Barstool Sports. I've been a stoolie since I was a freshman in college (that's 2009). I've seen it all - the Milton office, the 6/12/18/24 challenge, Barstool Blackout Parties, the fall of Neil and the rise of Big Cat, and of course the Chernin purchase and the ensuing rocket ship to the moon. But here's the thing: when Barstool started originally, it was location based which of course led to a diversity of people and opinions - specifically diversity of fandoms. You obviously had the Boston centric nature to Barstool given Dave's origins, but with KFC being a Mets/Jets fan rather than a Yankees/Giants fan, it gave Barstool NY a different kick. Having Barstool Philly, Chicago, DMV, and even fucking Iowa (?), Barstool was a place where you could get wildly different hot takes on sports directly from the fans themselves. However, since the move to NYC, the winds have changed. Due to its location, every schmuck within fifty miles has the ability to live at h...
