Broncos Picking a WR at #15 Would be Catastrophically Stupid
With the NFL draft being only a couple of weeks away when Bill O'Brien will undoubtedly fuck things up for his team, I thought I might use this opportunity to shame the shit out of anyone who thinks the Broncos should take a wide receiver with the first overall pick.
Number 2: Our wide receiving corp is unproven but improving. Remember that Fant EXPLODED when Drew Lock became our quarterback and that everything changed drastically when Sanders was traded. Hamilton showed signs and Patrick is a very tall and manly wide receiver who could develop into a reliable option. I'm not saying that we are set - far from it - but we don't need a guy in the top half of the draft, and with the development of Lock, our wide receivers have the opportunity to become better.
Number 3: This draft is DEEEEP with wide receivers. Seriously, literally everyone and their mothers has stated how deep this draft is with wide receivers. There are plenty of 1st/2nd round grade wide receivers who we can get if we want to trade back or even by just picking them in the later rounds. There's no reason to pick a guy that early if we can get a guy who isn't that far behind later on.
So what do we do instead? Make a big splash and go and TRADE UP for Isiah Simmons. Ya that's right - this man is the second coming of Earl Thomas and could be the future of our defense along with Bradley Chubb. Isiah Simmons is a 6'4" 240 lbs. linebacker who can be put into coverage. The Broncos biggest fucking problem YEAR OVER YEAR is tight ends. We get burned every fucking week by tight ends and we never have an answer for it. We don't have corners who can tackle them and we don't have linebackers who can keep up with them. Isiah Simmons can drop back into coverage while Chubb and Von can rush the passer. Tell me that doesn't make it move and I'll take your fan card away immediately. He will be costly, but game changers usually are.

Number 1: We have a #1 Wide Receiver and his name is Courteland Sutton. The reason you pick a wide receiver this high is because you expect him to change the very nature of your passing game, and we don't need that. We already have that.
